A native Swift email client built on JMAP. Fast, private, and built for iPhone and Mac.

I've been experimenting with EU-based DNS and domain registrars, with some spare domains:

ClouDNS - for DNS only, a quick learning curve of their UI required. Free for 1 domain.

Gcore - for DNS only, that was really easy to set up! Multiple domains allowed, it's free providing you don't exceed monthly 'requests'.

INWX - for domain registrar and DNS, had a few head-scratching moments, but with a bit of help from their support, it was soon up and running.

Looking good so far!

We’re preparing to launch native OpenPGP support in eclipso Mail Europe.

Our web interface is already in the final testing stage, and we’re now looking for experienced users who actively use PGP and would like to help us refine the implementation.

Please note: Our mobile apps (iOS/Android) are still in development and will join later.

If you’re interested in joining the web beta, feel free to reply or send us a DM.

Proton Mail Shared User Information with the Police - Schneier on Security

404 Media has a story about Proton Mail giving subscriber data to the Swiss government, who passed the information to the FBI. It’s metadata—payment information related to a particular account—but still important knowledge. This sort of thing happens, even to privacy-centric companies like Proton Mail.

2/2: Also, if the new email provider does not prove to be satisfactory enough for my needs, it's no big deal to use another provider.

For some people that import/export ALL their emails, that can be susceptible to errors/failures during transfer. If they then decide that the new provider was not satisfactory, all that importing/exporting was all for nought.

What do you do?

1/2: When changing email providers, I've never understood why some people feel the need to export many GB worth of emails from their old account, and then import them all into the new account.

For myself, I would copy over the last one month's worth of emails over, and then archive the rest locally. That practice has always served me well. If I have a need to find an older email, it's a simple matter to search my local email archive.

Mailbox.org is one of those email providers that doesn’t get talked about as much as Proton Mail or Tuta, but it probably deserves more attention. I tested the service, looked at the trial limits, webmail, encryption options, and overall security posture. My review is here: https://paulobrien.com/mailbox-org-review-2026/
