The Netherlands Reproducibility #Network (NLRN) is a national peer-led consortium with the goal to increase the quality and efficiency of #research in the #Netherlands by coordinating, supporting and strengthening initiatives on #reproducibility and #transparency in all scholarly disciplines.

Yesterday, we were reviewed by an external evaluation committee!

Rogier Kievit, Judith ter Schure, Wolfgang Kaltenbrunner and Bert Seghers spoke with members of our steering and advisory boards, node leads from institutional partners, and several external stakeholders.
The preliminary feedback was critical, constructive and inspiring: they confirmed a need for NLRN as a hub for reproducibility and research quality, and offered suggestions to increase our impact.

Save the date for the next NLRN Symposium!
We will meet on 25 January 2027 in Utrecht.

Thanks to OSNL for awarding an OS meeting grant! We are looking forward to seeing many of you to discuss the implementation of #research policies and how those affect the daily work of researchers and supporters.

#ReproducibleResearch #OpenScience

This is a #throw-back post to about a month ago, when 90 #reproducibility enthusiasts from across domains and #academic workprofiles met to discuss what shapes and forms a #researchCulture where working reproducibly becomes the norm.

You can read our blogpost about the event on our website: https://reproducibilitynetwork.nl/2026/02/26/nlrn-symposium-2026-culture-change-as-a-multi-actor-challenge/

These are the happy faces of satisfied participants who have completed the Reproducible Research Through Reusable Code Workshop! Next to training researchers, we also had a few software trainers joining from different institutes across NL, who are considering to start offering this training locally. If you would like to join our workshop as an observer or if we can help you implement any of our trainings, please don't hesitate to reach out to [email protected]!

Really happy to see that the Dutch research and education community is growing on Mastodon.

Thanks, @wlaatje, for compiling this overview of 80 universities, research organizations, libraries, faculties, research groups, and individual academics who are (some more, some less) active on Mastodon.

80 Ways to follow Research, Science and Education on Mastodon

Last week, an appeal was shared on LinkedIn (because, yes... for now it is still where you reach people to point out that there is more than LinkedIn) by

SURF Communities

tagging a few people who contributed/attended (and are on mastodon):

Lots of laughter, old friends, new faces: our annual symposium brought about 90 people from different career stages, disciplines and roles in the #academic system together. We discussed the differences between #quality assurance and policing #research practices, learned about galaxy and #nanopublications, and caught up with #reproducibility related projects.

To everyone who participated, contributed and joined us: Thank you for making this a lively and energetic event!
