Do I happen to know anyone on Mastodon that does consulting on self-hosted QuickBooks installations? I have a friend that needs a hand. #quickbooks #selfhosted #windowsserver

I first met "Weird Al" Yankovic when I was 15, after I convinced his manager to let me interview him for the local newspaper. Years later, I finally got to close a true business deal with Al, where Stitcher recorded all 70+ of his concerts during his first Ridiculously Self-Indulgent, Ill-Advised Vanity Tour and released them in Stitcher Premium.

In both cases, the initial answer was "no." In both cases, I was able to convince Al and his team.

Next month, I'm hosting a live webinar on Negotiating Win/Wins. I can't explain WHY I'm particularly good at negotiating, but I can definitely explain HOW — and share my best negotiating skills with you.

Journalists, editors: One small thing you can do to push back on this criminal regime is use the Department of Defense's actual name, not the sham name the fascists made up outside the law. And that includes the actual title of Pete Hegseth's job, not the one he made up for himself. Until Congress decides those are the proper titles in the law, the made up fascist names should not be promulgated by U.S. news rooms. #journalism #media

I understand the urge to leave 1Password, but I would very much advise against using a platform-provided password manager, regardless if it's Apple, Google or Samsung. Yes, it's convenient. It's also a liability. There are plenty of other good password managers out there, Bitwarden, for example, or Proton Pass.
Very sad for a company that ate the entire internet to train its AI models is now finding itself being eaten up competitors. :((((((( etc (((((

The kindness of strangers: I was exhausted wrangling my two young kids – then a man popped $2 into the coin-op ride

When I was feeling utterly worn out, a stranger came along to give my kids joy
