I live in Gloucestershire. I am interested in patient safety, especially suicide prevention and ending use of restraint in MH services. I know a bit about NHS-funded mental health system in England. I think QI is useful if it's voluntary and not so much if it's imposed as a training requirement.

There’s such an incredible difference between biking with my 12 year-old on paint-only bike lanes or sharrows, or worse, streets with no bike support at all, compared to car-free streets/spaces (today, #JFKPromenade in #SanFrancisco). He goes from being—completely legitimately—anxious, stressed, and confused by driver behavior, to being carefree and full of joy for biking and exercise and the outdoors.

It’s criminal that the first of those is the default case.

@Samir @[email protected] @atomicpoet Search engines aren't sued because they comply with the licensing, but also there ahve been many court cases involving search engines to work out what the limits are - linking, hot-linking, framed content, snippets, etc etc.

@Samir @[email protected] @atomicpoet This is a fundamental misunderstanding of very basic copyright law. A book in a library is public, but law controls what you can do with the content of that book. You do not have the permission to just siphon up people's content and redistribute it.

Regretfully, the petition to remove #LGBT content from the #UK curriculum has 197,100 signatures.

The counter petition asking for that content to remain, is rapidly gaining ground. It now has 78,919 signatures!

@changeling The only "rule" for fediblock hashtag is "please don't use it for meta discussion of the hashtag" and "if you build a thing that uses it, please talk to the people who created it to see if you're causing harm, and please give them credit". These are not difficult for autistic people to understand - this autistic person Coles fine with them.
