Morphological Freedom and the Construction of Bodymind Malleability from Eugenics to Transhumanism

Oh. Looks like people are (once again) figuring out that silicon valley and effective altruism and longtermism and the rest are all bound up root to ass with eugenics and white supremacy.

So: Welcome to the party; there are a LOT of academics, researchers, and people with direct lived experience, already here.

#STS scholars: my department is hiring a TT professor!

In case it's not clear: for the first 2 weeks- until 12/4- applications are restricted to FSC employees (union rules). After that, anyone can apply. Deadline is 12/31.

FSC is located on central Long Island. Some faculty live here & some commute by car or train from NYC. I am an NYC train commuter.

I'm happy to answer questions- [email protected].

Thanks for circulating :)

Future generations are going to look at this generation’s laxity with genetic data and privacy in the sane way we look back at smoking, Jim Crow laws and fossil fuels.

You can’t change your genetic data like you can a password and once it gets out it not only affects you both your relatives and your offspring.

You carry a gene for a chronic disease that’s inherited? Now insurance companies know that about you, your kids and grandkids.

Unbelievable privacy self own.
