America has often been a place of contradictions and controversies; I'm in the "diversity is our strength" camp. Seattle suits me more than most places in America, and since the 2016 Presidential election, I have joined at least a couple of protest marches every year.
I support creativity, critical reasoning, and kindness.

Did Frankenstein start with humans, or were there others?
If any of us reach 80 the microplastics will have completely replaced all the organic matter in our bodies, leaving perfect plastic fossils frozen in place at the moment of death.
Threads announces acquisition of Reddit, to be rebranded Threddit and to be moderated by your conspiracy-minded aunt and people you are connected to online but haven’t seen since high school.

I miss how dating used to be. You didn't have to use Tinder. You could just acquire a toad to carry around from the swamps. If you wanted to kiss him & turn him into a prince, you could. And if not, you still had a nice toad companion. Simpler times.

‘Death from overwork’ is so common in Japan there’s even a word for it. But is it physically possible? Zaria Gorvett investigates

A lot of Americans quote the Bible. But I don't think the message is what many think is the message. Matthew 26:52 would be great for people to review. If spoken today, it might say something like "Put your AR-15 back into your ammunition locker."

Tomorrow is the US #election so I want to share this:

I study Congress. Not by crunching numbers, but by sitting down with people who write legislation & make recommendations for how members should vote. Rs & Ds.

And despite what politics look like in our hyper-polarized, outrage-driven, sensationalized media environment (ie #Twitter), there are still so many smart good folks we never see working hard every day to make things better.

I’m hopeful for the future. Democracy depends on us. #Vote
