@natejung You don’t even have to go out and take things when they are free, just because they are free. 100% Orange Juice is free on Steam right now and my son saw it and asked if I was getting it for my account. I said no. He asked “why not?, it’s free.”. Explained to him I don’t need it and won’t use it. More stuff is just more headache to sort through. Focus on what you love.
@corbin @thespacebar Is there a way to get that on modern Macs?
@cb_desu @noivad Yeah look at Steam’s windows, it wasn’t even updated to fit in with MacOS from 5 years ago, let alone today. Can’t really blame Apple if publishers want their software to look different. If Apple forced UI on third parties, users and publishers would be angered.
Feeling overwhelmed with too many devices, but each one serves a purpose. Switch 2 is where I play Fortnite with the kids and Nintendo exclusives. Steam Deck is my main game machine. iPad is where I organize my life. MacBook is my favorite of all my devices and where I spend the most time, wish I could do everything on a #Mac

I would say I still enjoy the OLED Switch more. It reminds me of the NES and SNES era of accessories and fun. There is a magic and a charm to it.

The Switch 2 is more of a tool for me. It has the performance to get the job done, but there is nothing noteworthy about the hardware involved.

My experience so far with Switch 2 vs Switch 1:

The Switch 2 is inarguably a major performance upgrade over its predecessor. Games like Fortnite are now playable competitively and look great. The new screen is a blessing to my 40 year old eyes, especially in polygonal games.

On the flip side I still enjoy my OLED Switch. It feels better to hold with its compact metal body and the colorful plasticky joycons just scream fun. The smaller screen is still spacious enough for 2D games.

@Oregon_Pacifist Some people may not agree with me, but imho the DD arcade game is not a good game. I would say most of the home console ports are better, so that can’t be nostalgia talking on my end since I played those ports (aside from NES) in my adult life. DD arcade is a legend for bringing into existence the belt scrolling craze that followed it, but it was an early prototype of what would follow, much like Street Fighter 1, a rough experience important historically.
Is there a way on #mastodon to see only posts in your native #language or to have all posts on your feed use #translation automatically?

I was reading a story today about #theoldnet and how if you leave an “&” symbol at the end of an #email , it means you want the recipient to reply back. Does anyone remember this or still do this today? I don’t recall that being a thing or maybe it was and I didn’t notice. Gonna tag below with adjacent words in hopes of response.
