From approximately 1993 to 1997 an individual named Allan S. Joffe published a list of #Philadelphia area #BBS Systems. Some of these lists have survived, scattered across the Internet.

These files were distributed quarterly across local BBS file areas, leaving us with an indexed-quarterly snapshot of the rise and fall of BBS systems in the Philadelphia area.

This webpage plots that BBS #history on an Interactive map with a heat map and timeline showing the density of BBS' located within Philadelphia area towns, boroughs, and cities over time
