The root of socialism is society--people's relationships to one another. We struggle in the midst of a profoundly inhuman system that denies, degrades, & exploits us. We can't avoid being injured, our feelings colonized by constant pressures to conform & submit. It's no surprise, then, that some self-styled revolutionaries treat others in "capitalist" ways, as enemies to be labeled, hated, discarded. Beware of violence fetishists--the politics of revenge cannot create the belovéd community.
