Stellar's Jays in #RockyMountainNationalPark. Sure, they're camp thief birds waiting to grab your lunch, but they sure are pretty.

You see this story by @NaomiNix of the Washington post?

It's not so important that Meta is "considering" a new social network.

The real story is "decentralized model gains steam".

And what is that "decentralized model"? The Fediverse!

The mainstream media is now acknowledging that the Fediverse is cutting edge social media technology.

Remember back when search engines were somewhat usable? That was nice. #comics

Not only does Elon Musk not have a clue what he’s talking about, but this is *exactly* what he tried to do at PayPal, claiming it needed a full “V2” rewrite of the code when it didn’t.

Instead, it shifted resources away from key areas, caused PayPal to lose much more money to fraud, and eventually got him ousted as CEO.

Last month, I wrote about Elon Musk’s time at PayPal and how he’s repeating his mistakes from that period: https://www.disconnect.blog/p/elon-musk-wants-to-relive-his-start

Elon Musk wants to relive his start-up days. He’s repeating the same mistakes.

It's #tax season, so #TurboTax is once again advertising just about everywhere.

Remember:
• TurboTax spent decades fighting to stop Americans from filing taxes for free:

• There are ways to file for free without TurboTax:

The TurboTax Trap

ProPublica has long detailed how Intuit, the maker of TurboTax, and other companies have worked against making tax preparation easier and less costly.

Biden proposes raising taxes on people making over $400,000 a year to fund Medicare

So #TuckerCarlson is arguing that #January6th was mostly peaceful. I'll accept that if conservatives accept that about the #BLM protests. The argument in both cases being that most of the people involved were not violent. I think that's true. Which side had the higher percentage of participants breaking the law? I do think the pathetic attempt to interrupt the transfer of power is worse than blocking traffic. Property damage happened, but it wasn't the goal of either group.
