For those of you who use Calibre:

1. The newest version has AI integrated in it (ugh).

2. Some brilliant community-minded folks have forked a new version of the software called 'clbre' (which is 'Calibre' minus the letters 'ai').

3. I cannot vouch for the stability of Clbre. I have not used it. I haven't updated my own Calibre for over a year, because it works now and I don't want to touch it. But still: I love that the anti-AI community is so tech-savvy and responsive to our needs!

I'm getting a LOT of new followers this weekend and today from mastodon.social that claim to be news aggregators. all created in the past 72 hours. Someone's spinning up a MONSTROUS propaganda/fake news campaign out there right now! I'm guessing it's a state level actor. Be cautious and double-check anything that sounds too good to be true or too outrageous to ignore!

@Jaqspur would that beeswax paper wrap stuff be a good sustainable alternative to the plastic wrap? Full disclosure: I have no idea what I’m talking about, but plastic cling wrap is my lifelong nemesis.

@skinnylatte this is why Seattle (and the rest of the PNW?) is one of the biggest markets for sunglasses. We lose them so often in between the brief bouts of sunshine. 😂
