Starting yesterday, federal agents have begun raiding folk around Minnesota. Friend reports there's a raid happening on their block in Minneapolis, right now, from the FBI.

I won't get confirmation on it obviously but I got told that I"m likely to be investigated, because I 3d printed and distributed about 10,000 whistles during Operation Metro Surge, and anyone who knew either of the people killed is getting investigated.

That'd obviously be not great for me, considering my long record of getting investigated by the government.

The "fun" trap? Organizing in advance is exactly what gets called conspiracy and terrorism!

So no one really wants to do anything to help anyone, because the systems of oppression have, frankly, been really successful.

The @EUCommission and its president Ursula von der Leyen have recently migrated their ATproto (Bluesky) accounts to W Social.

I cannot fathom why they would pick a private enterprise whose leaders didn't even have ATproto accounts 3 months ago... and who are so open to having their users' data mined to train European AI models.

Hi internet friends. I have a bit of a weird request.

I am looking for a German technical writer/translator who knows their Web Development basics and would be able to translate @bw 's excellent https://htmlforpeople.com into German (casual edition). Here are some of the facts:

• All the markdown files are ~31k words in total.
• I will pay for your time, I don't expect free labor. However, that also means you need to be able to send me an actual invoice ("me" being a German legal entity with a business license who just so happened to get frequently audited by the tax office).
• The contents will be available publicly to everyone under the same original license. My goal is just to make that content available to German speakers. I'm not entirely sure if getting paid for a translation is a violation of the CC's Non-Commercial clause, so I checked with Blake before posting this and he's fine with me doing this (thanks again!)
• I will host the contents, you don't need to worry about any of that.
