My local llm often doesn't believe me that software versions or hardware exist until I tell it to check the date (which is a separate tool it can use, otherwise it assumes it cutoff date is the current date) and search the internet if it doesn't know something.

Caden@b3lt3r @nixCraft the only real way to keep these things up to date is to train them continually. I believe there's a little bit of that going on, but it's little enough for it to be significantly behind in many aspects.
This is one reason why you should never listen to someone who says "if you ignore the training costs, company Y is profitable"
