Someone was a bit rude to me online this morning.

Not terrible. Not dramatic. Just that familiar little internet flick of condescension. The sort of thing that says, “I am above you,” while still very much wanting your attention.

I answered simply and kindly enough, then went back to my morning.

Rain outside. Fires on. Coffee in hand. Breathwork done.

The interesting thing is that it did not interfere with my breathwork at all. I noticed the rudeness, answered it, and then it disappeared. It only came back to me later, when I sat down at my computer to write and reflect.

That feels like the useful part.

Being touched by rudeness is human.

Being captured by it is optional.

The old habit would have been to rehearse it, defend against it, sharpen a reply, build a little courtroom in my head and appoint myself both barrister and judge.

This morning, there was no courtroom.

I had commented online, but inwardly, there was no further argument.

Just breath.

“No comment.”

Cause and effect, really. If I feed grievance, grievance becomes familiar. If I return to breath, breath becomes familiar.

That is karma, done and dusted.

@Su_G

Yes, that is the core of it, the choice remains with me, "I'm not the victim of the world I see..." ACIM
