"At a minimum your helmet should be certified to the Dutch NTA 8776 standard, the only one specifically for ebikes."

Virginia Tech rates helmets, and you can filter for "e-bike (NTA)" helmets, but there are 13 helmets with 5 stars (too many), and the highest-rated options are very expensive and bulky. And can I even source them in the USA?

Q7. What is the best/safest e-bike helmet?

Try them on at real world bike shop. Once you have ticked boxes of
-Comfort
-usability
-Can I leave the house wearing this model
-Safety rating.
-extra warm layer underneath
Then invest but not before. Once you know you will use it the cost is ok.

I would insist on minimum safety compliance but not spend overly to reach highest rating on Virginia Tech etc
