Back on the Cotswold Way this morning, for 'just' the first 9km of leg 4, out and back. So 'only' 455m of elevation, and so many cows. There's something uniquely terrifying at having to walk through a herd of cows alone when you know there's no other way out or round them, and then one starts following you. Let's hope they're in different fields on race day (or that the speedsters somehow corral them away from the route). #running #RunnersOfMastodon #TrailRunning #CotswoldWayRelay
@fak just make sure you're not the slowest person in that particular field 😉

@fak where was your start and end point? I do a lot of running on the Cotswold Way around Gloucester/Stroud/Dursley mostly but my wife and I have hiked the whole thing. Love it.

In fact this is probably why I’m seeing road signs warning of runners and walkers…

@murbs this section starts at Crickley Hill car park, then follows a diversion due to the roadworks, and on race day will finish at Painswick (last year I ran the section from Painswick to Stroud, after this year I'll only have two sections left to complete the whole thing).
@murbs our event doesn't normally put up warnings of our presence, but there is often a much bigger event going the opposite way on the same day that might put up signage (we go North to South, finishing at Bath Abbey).
@fak you go the right way then 😉
@fak that Painswick-Stroud section is one of my favourites on the whole trail.
@fak Sounds like a nice run, once you got past the curious cows. definitely worthy of that post run treat.
