L'incubo delle Maldive è finito. Oggi sono stati recuperati anche gli ultimi due corpi dei subacquei italiani che una settimana fa si erano immersi a 60 metri di profondità, fino all'atollo di Vaavu, senza mai fare ritorno. Muriel Oddenino e Giorgia Sommacal sono quindi stati riportati in superficie, dopo che ieri un'analoga operazione aveva restituito le salme degli altri due sub Monica Montefalcone e Federico Gualtieri. I quattro si uniscono dunque al corpo di Gianluca Benedetti, recuperato lo scorso 15 maggio.
Il successo dell'operazione è dovuto a un team di esperti finlandesi, che è sceso fin dentro la grotta dove erano stati localizzati i corpi. La procedura di recupero è stata suddivisa in più step, come spiegato ieri dall'organizzazione Dan Europe che si è occupata della missione in collaborazione con le forze armate maldiviane. Il team di Helsinki ha trasportato le salme fino a 30 metri di profondità per poi passare la manovra dell'ultimo tratto al team locale di Malé. "Una volta recuperate, le vittime sono state trasferite con il massimo rispetto su barelle e successivamente imbarcate sulle unità della Guardia Costiera" aveva spiegato Dan Europe

Today, the last two bodies of the Italian divers who disappeared a week ago, while diving to a depth of 60 meters to the Vaavu atoll without returning, were also recovered. Muriel Oddenino and Giorgia Sommacal have therefore been brought to the surface, after yesterday a similar operation returned the bodies of the other two divers, Monica Montefalcone and Federico Gualtieri. The success of the operation is due to a team of experts from Finland, who went down into the cave where the bodies were located. The recovery procedure was divided into several steps, as explained yesterday by Dan Europe, which carried out the mission in collaboration with the Maldivian armed forces. The Helsinki team transported the bodies to a depth of 30 meters before passing the final maneuver to the local team in Malé. “Once recovered, the victims were transferred with the utmost respect on stretchers and subsequently embarked on the Coast Guard vessels,” Dan Europe explained.
