I think not!
Maybe it's not allowed not to post? 🤔
Yes, we have also been cracking down an inactive accounts too.
Especially, if you're not part of the problem of us being a successful evil corporation, you're not welcome.
Let me confirm your suspicion.
Yes, it was suspended exactly for the reason you believe it was.
We've been cracking down on service providers that provide products or services in direct competition with our own.
Even if we restore it at a later time, expect to be more easily scrutinized.
@pixelfed LoL. They aren't even hiding behind a mask anymore.
Just wait until they get a private army like Russian companies!
@pixelfed I heard Instagram are mass purging inactive account.
Lots of influencer are repoeting thousands of lost followers.
@pixelfed My advice is to close the account, and also close any other accounts on anything owned by Meta that you control. They cannot be trusted, so spend no further energy growing followers there that will get cut off anyway.
Export all possible useful contacts, attempt to reach followers with a post about where to go, but accept that that might be blocked. Give a week's warning, then shut down other accounts on Meta
@pixelfed I found no official Meta rule banning Pixelfed or links to rival platforms. Reports from 404 Media, Engadget and Daring Fireball say Meta/Facebook removed some pixelfed.social links as “spam” in 2025; Engadget reports Meta later called that removal a mistake. The relevant official rules are Instagram’s Community Guidelines and Meta’s Spam/Inauthentic Behavior policies against spam, scams, and artificially boosting likes, follows, shares, reach, or engagement.
Let go!
take it as a win, dont stay on that shithole
// For example... it's going too far as a bot or spam countermeasure. That's the only reason I don't want to create an Instagram account.

I am not surprised.
