infodon@hacks4pancakes i think this kind o things happen when you cant relate the idea pushed by media/culture with actual living people. There are good humans (and crappy ones also) living in every part of the world. Its kind of a dissociation between characters and persons.

I had to bite my tongue to avoid saying something like "got to pay for that Iran war" when I heard about an upcoming increase in our renewal cost.

Supporting those entities makes one complicit in their crimes. Standing by in silence while evil shit is ongoing, also makes one complicit.

lumettaria@hacks4pancakes I've run into multiple (???) situations IRL where I mention something about the zionist interests being deeply embedded in non-Israeli politics (such as the US) and have found out some of my acquaintances are actually just closeted nazis. They're salivating at the chance that someone might be "finally agreeing with them" when in reality they don't know what zionism even is, conflating it to a mere religion. I'm tired.

Here in Australia you would think that Zionism and Judaism were the same thing based on the media; the conservative, Zionist, Israeli Government aligned Jewish groups are the only ones ever quoted and the media happily publish their PR releases as news
