#GoodMorning #Gravel! An early meeting at work made me ditch #KidsOnBikes, but at least they’ve been present in form of their drone…🤡

#Cybina valley #forest was a great choice, because it’s windy today for the little #DJI #DJINeo fellow to follow!🥰

@ssamulczyk @rower Do you have a drone filming you in places here?

@Deixis9 Yes. I have borrowed my son’s DJI Neo drone and simply used some of those smart modes, like follow, circle, etc.

I’m probably not going to do that very often, because is not mine after all and the montage is somewhat pain in the ass.

Too bad it cannot record sound on it’s own. But… it would be way to loud to do it reasonably. We might want to get an external mic for that…

@rower

@ssamulczyk @rower I really must get one.

@Deixis9 For the first drone, DJI Neo is nice. It’s not a toy, if you get “fly more” combo you get a remote to use with your mobile device and 2 extra batteries. Relatively inexpensive, around €230.

You can then use smart modes or control it freely via remote, but it is still easy to fly.

Neo 2 has more smart in it. It can for example follow but in front of you or side by side, has more collision sensors, etc.

Both last around 17 minutes on a charge…

@rower

@ssamulczyk @rower Can it handle flying in a forest?

@Deixis9 It has a basic obstacle avoidance but it really depends. There’s a youtuber - DC Rainmaker - he tested it in some more demanding places:

@ssamulczyk @rower Thanks for the low down, I will investigate further.
