Once I got a degoogled androod phone (I use e/os) it was easy! Hang in there and keep chipping away. It's worth it!

Pixel 8
I intentionally purchased it used because I didn't want to give Google any of my money.
I chose the Pixel 8 because it is a viable option for Graphene OS and a few of the Linux OSs. I like to have options, but after putting eOS on I haven't looked back.

Not at all. I'm saying I was so satisfied with eOS that I never moved on from it to try GrapheneOS.
I've heard nothing but great things about GrapheneOS. I think it's more security-focused, while eOS is more privacy-focused.
@Lightfighter same!
I’d be completely off of all of this stuff were it not for the fact that other entities I deal with are not. For example, I signed up for a history course on Coursera; they serve the readings as Google Docs. Also, a charity organization I work with does their primary reporting on financial receipts and expenditures via FB. It’s not a good time to try to help them transition. I do as much as I can to get off the tech oligarch platforms, but in the end, I have to meet people where they are. It’s a process.
- Fully DeMeta
- Partially DeGoogle
- - Required to use G Services for school unfortunately
- - and Android
- Mostly DeMicrosoft
- - with the exception of LinkedIn
@Tutanota Got that mostly pinned down, tho still using google maps and youtube.
Also I must admit I really like c#, though I'm using mono.
DeMicro$oft loooong ago...
DeGoogle 99.5%...
Never was on Meta or any of it's offspring.
Looking to DeAndroid next phone purchase.
@Tutanota De Meta is hard
problem is to convince your loved ones to move out of whatsapp - then they convince other 20
which is next to impossible
@Tutanota de google is hard as well
No one can replace google maps when its urgent
@Tutanota In my personal life the only difficult one is the first. Mainly for the creative content in YT and because transitioning to another mail address seems complicate for many reasons.
The other two were easy and done years ago. (Made easier by the fact that I always refused to join Whattsapp, and never really liked FB, X, any Microsoft products etc. I recognise my privilege!)
In my professional life I have no choice but to use MS and other big commercial products and that is infuriating.
@Tutanota I only have an Google and MS Account, but not signed in to any of my devices directly.
MS is still needed to play Minecraft and Forza Horizon. My Google Account is for purchased apps from google play (I'm installing these with the Aurora Store). ;)
