A new day. A new chance to succeed.

I'm trying to keep a quiet head this morning. Still yawning myself awake as I work through the morning routine.

It's quiet for the moment. As quiet as modern life gets.

I have nothing extra on the list. No outside trips. No delayed tasks coming due.

Just a day to be.

To chop some wood. Carry some water.

To recover from the days just passed and rest up for the days to come.

Another cool, sunny day for my early-morning walk. This time I didn't see any of the baby animals at all. It's funny how that works.

Today I'm going out to a dinner meeting with a group of progressive women I'd like to join. I normally don't go out in the evenings, much less eat dinner out, because that's when my chronic abdominal pain is the worst. I'm going because I'd really like to be part of this group.

I drove to find the restaurant a few days ago. It's easy to get to, but parking looks like it will be a nightmare, especially on Father's Day. Fingers crossed I find a spot!

A friend just shared this advice with me, in a conversation about a tough situation she's dealing with, and I wish someone had said this to me when I was very young (instead of implicitly and explicitly telling me the opposite, as is common for people socialized as female).
