Along the Merrimack last night.
#MagicInTheMundane
@jerzone how very musical! 🎼
@jerzone This looks most odd. Do you have other views?
@NicelyManifest Here's a couple. One where the depth of focus was deeper and one with a similar but thicker vine still coiled around old, dead tree/branch.

@jerzone @NicelyManifest

I like the soft focus of the first, but I like the angle of this one.

(This is why I keep a hundred shots of the same thing; because there is always something tiny & unique I like in each one! πŸ˜ƒ

RIP memory cards ...πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ )

@Her_Doing @NicelyManifest

I usually don't have reading glasses with me so it's not always clear (ha!) which photo works, or even if it's in focus. I'll often leave it to the fates if I got "the shot".

@jerzone

I have *always* been one to take dozens of shots, but my eyesight is very poor these days & now I do it more than ever. I am always *thrilled* when something is in focus, and I actually have the picture I hoped I had taken. πŸ₯°

@jerzone Almost an optical illusion. Thanks so much!

@jerzone @NicelyManifest

The thicker vine in secodn image seems to be a grape vine, the smoother one is def Bittersweet.

@jerzone Don't fall into that spiral.
@luc0x61 but what if it's a portal to somewhere fun?
@jerzone Just stay on this planet: the rest of the universe is utterly inhabitable.
@jerzone Ah it's been a long time since I've seen the word Merrimack.
@jerzone Wow, did somebody tediously tie this branch around a pipe for years?? 😲

@gimulnautti @jerzone

As noted it's propbably oriental bittersweet and it's a horrible invasive.

In my experience, it twists up smaller trees eventally killing them. This seems to be a secton that has fallen.

@Sfwmson @gimulnautti There was a section where 4 of the vines wound around each other, tighter and tighter. It's along a riverfront dirt pathway, we're just visiting the town.

@jerzone @gimulnautti

hopefully it kills itself!! Stems that large have grown up into and through the trees and bloomed thousands of times.

@jerzone You captured the magic and mystery of the Miskatonic! Well done!

@jerzone
Nice. 😎

That looks to be Oriental Bittersweet, a bane to forests. 😑 Cleanse it with fire.

@jerzone @electricbraindump If that was a cover picture on a book I would buy it so fast. So mysterious and beautiful.
@jerzone This is incredible.
@jerzone thanks for sharing, that is a good one.

@jerzone

Your toot is spiraling out of control!

@donray It's a coil that resonates!
@jerzone 🌟 Moment turned classic
@jerzone This makes me think of The Nightmare Before Christmas, except more colorful ^.^
@jerzone Pretty sure that's a wormhole to another dimension.
@jerzone I love finding spirals in nature. Great photos 😍
@jerzone Not far away from you, but not as impressive :)
@garymcm We have wild grapes at home that work their way up tall trees, but they seldom look like Pythons. ":^)
