NEW ORDER
1981-1982
1982 Canada 12” E.P. pressing

New Order had released a pair of non-album singles from ‘81 to ‘82, and none of those 5 tracks were on a full-length album at the time.

This E.P. was created to gather those singles for the North American market, as the UK 🇬🇧 singles were a bit more difficult to find.

The only thing that would make this better is if the debut single of “Cerrmony” b/w “In A Lonely Place” was also on it, but I totally get why it’s not.

“Temptation” is still SO great, and “Procession” could have been a single on its own.

A good friend of mine and I had a lengthy discussion last year while I was back visiting NYC.
We both are of the belief that Joy Division would have kind of ended up sounding like New Order anyway, as the final few JD demos inform us. PARTICULARLY the early New Order.
Close your eyes.
You can hear Ian singing these.

@TheVinylApe You have exceptional taste in music.

@retrosponge 😂 I appreciate that.
I’ve been exposed to a ridiculous array of music over my life, so I’ve grown to appreciate a little bit of everything.

Music is the greatest form of communication between people on Earth.
The more you appreciate, the easier it is to understand each other.
