@dev whoever is answering yes to this lives on a much smaller planet than I do
@ricci @dev that was my first reaction, but then someone pointed out to me that Pittsburgh is only about 30 miles from the border with Ohio which is clearly in the midwest so now I am confused
@dan @ricci @dev for real you've just answered the question-- Pittsburgh is not quite the midwest
@dan @ricci @dev to me the more interesting question is how far west the midwest goes. for ex I've always considered Kansas to be the midwest but there are those who disagree
@dan @ricci @dev the real question is whether being "great plains" excludes being "midwest". I say not.
@regehr @dan @ricci @dev i’m with you here … but how do you feel about Minnesota, the Dakotas, and Colorado?
@purp @dan @ricci @dev all midwest! except Colorado, which is unfortunately "intermountain west"
@regehr @dan @ricci @dev Colorado is the one that divides our family. My brother lived there for years and firmly argues "West" and will have none of this "Mid-" anything for them.
@purp @dan @ricci @dev CO is a bit problematic. there's a pretty big chunk of it that's just "Kansas but worse" and then there's the rest.
@purp @dan @ricci @dev on a road trip long ago, at a rest stop in Limon CO, I saw "is it that Kansas sucks or Colorado blows" written on a bathroom stall.
