@Zodypop@Lizette603_23 the kale varieties I grow are much, much sweeter/less bitter, and with a texture less like shoe leather than what I find in stores. It's mild enough to eat raw in salads. No need for extensive cooking!
@etp Well they could be the same genus and still taste different to different people. I wish I loved all veggies, but there are a few I can't stand! Lima beans still make me ball my fists up and say no no no no.
@etp My take on it is twofold....as a kid, frozen or canned limas are even worse than fresh....that gets imprinted, and then most people overcook vegetables in general, which turns some, i.e. limas, into wet cardboard lolol YUCK
@Lizette603_23 they're cooked like & taste similar Kale, to the point where I don't see much of a point in growing both, but rather I prefer to separate them out, when I'm freezing & reheating them, from the florets & stems.
@WanabeSelkie I use them in all those things. As far as possible I use all of any plant that's edible. I can't choke down Kale though lol and I dislike lima beans intensely. Texture thing.
