By the time people are given permission to be critical of institutions they seem to have lost the capacity or will to be so. If you acquire resources (including feminist resources) by saying yes to the institution, by agreeing not to speak out about institutional violence, or by stopping other people from speaking out, not saying no might be how you keep those resources.
