@saltywizard first Europe would have to get bigger cojones..
(with apologies for the crass analogy for courage).
Diogenes takes to the streets with a lit lantern in the middle of the day, people stop to ask what he is doing, Diogenes replies he is seeking someone with enough balls to stop this fucking lunacy going on. He can not find one.
if by 'americans,' you mean our elected leaders, sure.
regular usasians haven't lost their 'cojones,' they've just traded them in for iphones, uber eats, and 'real housewives of desperationville.'
we had our education systematically defunded and devalued for decades.
we've been fed a steady diet of convenience since 1945. and now we're chronically addicted.
we're a big, fat, lazy country. by design.
With Rutte @ NATO things are not well from our (Eu) side either
😞
@matus_chochlik @saltywizard
Too bad the USA does not recognize the ICC and USA will also invade The Hague whenever it likes to.
The American Service-Members' Protection Act (ASPA), known as the Hague Invasion Act[1] (Title 2 of Pub. L. 107–206 (text) (PDF), H.R. 4775, 116 Stat. 820, enacted August 2, 2002), is a United States federal law described as "a bill to protect United States military personnel and other elected and appointed officials of the United States government against criminal prosecution by an international criminal court to which the United States is not party."[2]

Repeal attempt
In 2022, an attempt to repeal the bill, sponsored by U.S. Representative Ilhan Omar, was introduced but died in Congress in committee; no vote was ever taken.[18]

Yeah, great sentiment but unfortunately neither US military or current or former US presidents are subject to the ICC because they withdrew from the Rome Statute.
yes, sure, all of that. right after we prosecute (and maybe something that rhymes with prosecute) the criminals.
or we could try something new.
