I started this huge pot of #sorrel from a small handful of free seeds, 4 years ago. I've been harvesting/eating from it, year round ever since! I keep roots mulched in Winter. It keeps providing fresh healthy food, every single season πŸ‘©β€πŸŒΎπŸ’šπŸ‘

@PhoenixSerenity I do similar with nettles :)
@castanea_jo I usually just transplant clumps of nettles as they tend to do better that way instead of from seed.

@PhoenixSerenity i grew mine from seed and now I probably would be hard pressed to remove them :D

they do well from seed here

@castanea_jo Nettles do well, self seeding. Other native plants like trillium, lady slippers, shooting stars - almost always fail if trying to grow from seeds. For those - taking clumps & creating same soil conditions is key to successful cultivation ✌️
@PhoenixSerenity that's mostly been my experience too, though i've had good luck with ramps from seed.
