My first 2026 #strawberry #flower has emerged. Lots of flowerbuds are getting ready to bloom. After the blooms, come some of my early, sweet, homegrown #strawberries 🍓

We love eating strawberries so we grow lots of them. I have 3 different varieties growing in our front, side & backyards & 2 strawberry planters on our back deck too.

We regret to inform you of the sudden loss of Arne Victor Garvi on the 15th of August, after a short illness. He was one of our co-founders and an important senior advisor. His work started in Tanout 1986, when he crossed the Sahara with his family to settle in Niger. His mission was to regreen the desert with naturally drought-resistant food plants. We intend to carry on the work he began nearly 40 years ago.

I grew this bountiful #GroundCherry plant from seeds collected from last year's #VolunteerPlant. I dug a volunteer ground cherry plant out from a sidewalk crack, last year & transplanted into a pot. That plant provided loads of #fruits. I saved 2 of the largest fruits for sowing this year's plants - gave several seeds away too.
