If you want to read a fun story about Putin manipulating Trump, here's one from Trump's former Russian affairs advisor:
Benjamin Netanyahu says that he won't attack certain gas fields because Trump asked him to.
But he says Trump didn't get dragged into the war because he asked Trump to.
He has also said repeatedly that Trump is a very good friend of his.
🤡
Benjamin Netanyahu now comparing Jesus Christ to Genghis Khan.
"During the press conference, Netanyahu said, “You know, if people want to be naive, then they don’t see the kind of world we’re living in. In this world, it’s not enough to be moral. It’s not enough to be just. It’s not enough to be right.”
...
... You know, one of the greatest writers of the 20th century, someone that I admire a lot, was the historian Will Durant,” Netanyahu continued. “Now, he wrote many volumes—I read most of them—he also wrote The Lessons of History, a very brief, 100-page book, in which he said, well, history proves that, unfortunately and unhappily, Jesus Christ has no advantage over Genghis Khan.”
...
... Because if you are strong enough, ruthless enough, powerful enough, evil will overcome good,” Netanyahu said. “Aggression will overcome moderation.”

I'm not upset about the comment. Just make it an exhibit at his trial for war crimes. Thank you very much.
Trump now saying NATO are cowards for not joining in his stupid ill-conceived incompetently-run "war".
Pete Hegseth was very upset the military discharged him and now he's running it and his mental powers extend as far as "we need money to kill bad guys".
I did not ask to be in this Netflix comedy special based on Idiocracy, and I am not enjoying it.
" "Gregg Phillips, appointed last year to lead FEMA’s Office of Response and Recovery, made the jaw-dropping teleportation claim in a January 2025 appearance on the right-wing podcast Onward, before he had the top role at the agency.
“I was with my boys one time and I was telling them I was gonna go to Waffle House and get Waffle House. And I ended up at a Waffle House — this was in Georgia and I end up at a Waffle House like 50 miles away from where I was,” Phillips said.
...
...
“And they said, ‘where are you?’ and I said, ‘A Waffle House.’ And ‘a Waffle House where?’ And I said, ‘Waffle House in Rome, Georgia.’ And they said, ‘That’s not possible, you just left here a moment ago.’ But it was possible. It was real.”
Phillips also shared fantasies about hurting former President Joe Biden with Onward host Catherine Engelbrecht.""
I can't even.
Just apropos the waffle teleportation guy, a reminder that Tucker Carlson had a dream that he was being attacked by interdimensional beings.
So these people are quite literally out of their minds. In addition to being child rapists and criminals.
"Donald Trump once said, "Our president will start a war with Iran because he has absolutely no ability to negotiate. He's weak and he's ineffective." "
True.
" Trump made the remarks about U.S. President Barack Obama in November 2011."

Has anyone seen any confirmation that the United States attacked an Iranian desalination plant?
"On Saturday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi accused the United States of striking a desalination plant in southern Iran."
Actually that's a great article for discussion of how energy intensive desalination is. Perhaps not everybody is aware how energy intensive it is to get salt out of water.
If you do it yourself, you boil the water and condense it elsewhere without the impurities. That requires the energy to boil the water completely. Desalination plants use reverse osmosis.
Either way it is unwinding a very stable energy state, and that's very costly. Very much like removing carbon dioxide from the air.
Anyway anyway ... best before dates are hardly even recommendations. Canned food lasts for years beyond that date. Frozen food is good too.
Boy, I really thought we left this behind after the pandemic but I guess not. Fun times. Got to love Republican criminals. Just ... the worst people on Earth
Here is Trump saying Obama will start a war with Iran to get elected, and that you have to exhaust other possibilities before you go to war to stop them from having nuclear weapons.
"We have a President who does not know anything about negotiations."
We certainly do.

Here's a map showing Qeshm Island on which that desalination plant was located.
It may or may not be outfitted with drones to attack ships, apparently. Clearly a good place to put them, although why use flying drones if you can use underwater ones these days.
By the way "artificial intelligence" was used in the "kill chain" in Netanyahu's War of Collective Punishment and War Crimes in Gaza that he Started to Keep Himself from Facing Jail.
It is called Lavender. (The AI, I mean. Not Netanyahu's Desperate War-To-Remain-A-Free-Man)
So it's not just Palantir's Maven that's out there.
Peak COVID demand contraction was 20 million barrels of oil.
We have just lost 20 million barrels of supply.
So oil needs to move to some price that causes us to replicate global lock-down (i.e. drop the use of 20 million barrels of oil).
Enjoy 2026.
Trump gets a TWO MINUTE VIDEO "BRIEFING" of the war.
This is because he is the laziest man on the face of the planet. I shall provide some links in a moment.

WASHINGTON — Each day since the start of the war in Iran, U.S. military officials compile a video update for President Donald Trump that shows video of the biggest, most successful strikes on Iranian targets over the previous 48 hours, three current U.S. officials and a former U.S. official said
Link to thread about Trump's laziness:
Warnings that inflation could hit 8% if energy system stays disrupted.
Increases are already hitting fertilizer costs, and the inflation for that will hit consumers in the coming months (it hasn't already).
Edit: That's for the countries that can pay. The ones that can't pay the higher prices simply won't get fuel.
So Iran has sent their plan back.
It includes recognition of a sovereign right over the Strait of Hormuz and also war reparations.
So yeah, it sounds like the parties are basically settled. 🤡
Long-term mortgage rates are going up
https://www.nytimes.com/2026/03/19/business/mortgage-rates-iran-war.html
Trump in his cabinet meeting said "We will come to nato's rescue but they will never come to ours"
Wait.
Why would NATO have to come to your rescue if you're winning the war?
Absolute clown show. (No offense to professional clowns. I'm just using the phrase.)

"Within the first two weeks of the war, Iran’s attacks on U.S. military bases caused an estimated $800 million in damage, according to a report by the Center for Strategic and International Studies and a BBC analysis.
When the war began, there were close to 40,000 troops in the region. Now some of them have been removed as far as Europe, while many struggle to prosecute a work-from-home war."

Iranian hackers have broken into Kash Patel's e-mail account.
https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cvgl4yk7vgpo
After they had read the word "bro" for the 26th time in ten e-mails, the hackers quickly left, setting a strong password on the way out the door.
This is good right? Attacking water plants?
This makes stonks go up right?
Korean markets down 5%. Japanese down 5%. Others down less. US futures down Sunday night.
So
Much
Winning
Remember when he said we would all get tired of the winning? I am tired of this winning. He was right.
Are you ready for all the winning of paying twice as much for food by September of 2026?
" "If diesel prices stay high, expect your grocery bill to go up by 25 to 50 per cent,” Shrosbree said."
...
"So by Labour Day, you know, if, if the shenanigans continue, we are going to be in a tricky situation.” "

It's going to be fun when inflation hits 4 or 5% because of this. By fun I mean a disaster.
And poorer countries are not going to be able to afford fuel shortly.
I like this commentator's point which is don't track Trump's comments, track the administration's movements.
And right now they have moved troops to the Middle East.
Last night I was falling asleep,
And I'm pretty sure I could hear Iran laughing.
This hysterical and overly emotional Trump should really step down.
Old white men like Trump are far too emotional to hold posts like that of President.
An F-15E was downed in Iran and weapons tech still missing.
The U.S. and Iran are now in a race to find the weapons tech because if that person is caught by Iran there will be huge political ramifications. The U.S. public has very little appetite for losing soldiers.
One of the rescue helicopters came under fire.
Separately, an A-10 was shot down as it was leaving Iranian airspace.
U.S. air superiority is never guaranteed but here it seems to have collapsed.
Reign down 🤡
Stay in school kids. You don't want to be the dictator everybody laughs at
I remember the old days when dictators had pride in their craft and really put the effort in.
Nowadays they're all just lazy, stupid pedophiles.
You're winning a war when you retreat, right?
_Evacuation of U.S. troops from Mideast base sends community groups scrambling to help_

Fox News radio pointing out that Trump said that the two airmen that they recovered were very brave, while standing next to the Easter Bunny at the White House Easter egg roll.
Yes, a very serious administration indeed.
If diesel is high in September then farmers will have a problem .
Fertilizer has probably already been purchased for this season, so Its price jump will only be felt next year in the 2027 season. Gas price increase will cause everything to go up because of transport cost.
"Commando II losses
Two U.S. Air Force MC-130J Commando IIs and two MH-6 Little Bird special operations helicopters were destroyed at a forward operating base inside Iran on 4 April 2026 by American forces after becoming disabled to prevent their technology from falling into Iranian hands.[149][150] "
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lockheed_MC-130
It looks like the US special forces forward operating base was overrun and they blew up all their aircraft to stop them falling into Iranian hands.
They had to blow up _two_ mc-130s because of technical problems?
And two helicopters, or possibly four? Other reports say four helicopters. Sounds like this almost went very very wrong.
The United States ambassador Mike Waltz said to the United Nations that Iran has attempted to take the world economy hostage and that may be its "last act. We'll see."

Also, BBC news summary April 7 2026 1906H GMT (audio)
Okay so the United States got nothing and Iran gets $2 million per ship that transits the Strait of Hornuz which will be paid in Chinese yuan.
Definitely sounds like a trump win. I mean the guy bankrupted everything he ran so this is par for the course.
Now the other thing people might find interesting is that international law is largely based on whatever happened yesterday. So this 2-week tariff thing, if it turns into a 6-month tariff thing might turn into a 1-year tariff thing might turn into a forever tariff thing.
(You might think I'm joking but after treaties, there's very little but "custom" in international law)
Lingering concerns about oil include that production is still not back to 100% and it will take a while to get back there, because infrastructure has been destroyed.
The war has also made clear that Iran controls the Strait, and this may become a point of leverage from now on.
Energy prices coming down lowers the pressure of rate hikes to fight inflation. However note the point above about pre-war levels.
Separate analysis:
"The bottom line: The "broad rally in asset prices and lower oil prices reflects a reduction in tail risks, not a material improvement in the underlying outlook," strategists at TD Bank wrote in a new note.
"Meanwhile, it will take many months for energy supply to return to something closer to normal, and several months of data volatility will leave central banks cautious," they added."
https://www.axios.com/2026/04/08/iran-ceasefire-economy-oil-energy
Apparently the ceasefire is over. Iran blaming Israel for attacking Lebanon.
https://www.gulf-insider.com/tanker-passage-through-hormuz-halted/
"Oil Transit through Hormuz Halted Again: FARS
Iran’s Fars News agency reports that oil tankers passing through Hormuz have been stopped after Israel’s “ceasefire breach.” This as Iranian officials are warning of resumed missile launches on Israel for what’s happening in Lebanon (see below)."
Again, if you have a six or seven time bankrupt president negotiate a deal, one expects it to fail
Oil tankers passing through Hormuz have been stopped after Israel's "ceasefire breach." This as Iranian officials are warning of resumed missile launches on Israel for what's happening in Lebanon
I'm just going to make a comment here which is if one plays these high pressure games, then when it finally comes time to sit down and talk one had to do that on a short timeframe, because one has ratcheted up the pressure and one needs to move quickly.
However.
There's no world that Trump or his goons are doing that. 🤡
(To be clear, that's even if one had a hope of negotiating a deal and I don't think these white supremacists had a hope of doing so.)
@jmcrookston Trump's U.S. oil industry bribers & aggression warrior Putin are getting richer by the minute as a result of Trump's war of aggression against the Iranian mullah regime & its logical blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.
And you bet Trump's getting his share of their skyrocketing profits!
So no matter, what Trump's U.N. emissary is blathering before the United Nations — it's a pathetic terror clown show, stupidly glossing over the corrupt Trump regime's dirty & bloody business of war profiteering.
@jmcrookston Donnie's gonna be on the take telling the war profiteers: "It was me, who started this Iran thing, again, boosting the price of oil up to tremendous heights, for YOUR benefit.
Show me your love for me making you a lot richer or get publicly fucked for your unpatriotic leftwing greed!"
Not to mention the fact, that the First Felon begged oil bosses to give him (an alleged "billionaire") $1 billion to fund his 2024 election campaign, which he obviously got.
@ArenaCops As long as not Putin, could very well be. He asked for 1.5T for war funding for next year to toss out to his buds.
Edit: yes sorry trillion of course!
@jmcrookston Trump & his crooked cronies in public office aren't that sane humble persons only to ask for ridiculous $1.5 billion for next year's DoD budget — make it $1.5 trillion of hardworking taxpayers' money & that'll be as insane as this administration of brazen robbery & looting!
Just saying...

President Donald Trump has proposed boosting defense spending to $1.5 trillion in his 2027 budget released Friday, the largest such request in decades, reflecting his emphasis on U.S. military investments over domestic programs. The sizable increase for the Pentagon, some 44%, had been telegraphed by the Republican president even before the U.S.-led war against Iran. The president’s plan would also reduce spending on non-defense programs by 10%. The massive document typically highlights an administration’s priorities, but Congress, which handles federal spending issues, is free to reject it and often does.
