OpenARK64.exeXDR: woah there buddy, no
IT: Why download this?
user: I downloaded it as Gemini's suggestion. But before installing, I became suspicious and didn't install it.
IT: asks Gemini
Gemini - [DARVO]
OpenARK64.exe@nyanbinary They asked AI how to fix alt-space or some shortcut that was "hijacked" I think.
Because the helpdesk guys don't help users with autocad or solidworks or other software suites our company uses. This one user is a cad/design guy, not a devops or software dev.
But yes, user should have come to IT if he thought malware could have been a thing... But user didn't start there. He basically asks how to rebind a windows shortcut. and gemini then suggests that malware could be a thing, then offers malware for download.
The whole thing is an allegory for the brain rot community. Let's slowly let our guard down because AI is getting better. The AI goes full inception planting ideas in the subconscious; Key bindings being taken over could be a number of things.. here is a link to a tool to remove malware! trust me bro
We go from simple question to implanted ideas about malware, and then the damn thing provides a link to a defunct malware scanner that was domain sniped years ago. whoopsie, my training data must be old XD
This is all combined with an AI fellating CEO that is telling people they dont have a job if they dont start using AI models to reproduce JIRA in flat text files inside of a monorepo where wveryone pushes to main.
