Because the helpdesk guys don't help users with autocad or solidworks or other software suites our company uses. This one user is a cad/design guy, not a devops or software dev.
But yes, user should have come to IT if he thought malware could have been a thing... But user didn't start there. He basically asks how to rebind a windows shortcut. and gemini then suggests that malware could be a thing, then offers malware for download.
The whole thing is an allegory for the brain rot community. Let's slowly let our guard down because AI is getting better.
