@davidrevoy She's finally free, I have been dying for this part of the series

@andnull @davidrevoy I'm also happy for it. I needed something positive.

By the way, compared to regular LLMs, Rubber Duck has excellent security and privacy. It is also free from most copyright issues.

I should have made an April's 1st webpage...

@dragonfi @andnull @davidrevoy And way less likely to annoy you more with "Thats the best idea anyone had thought of ever!" and "you are not just asking questions — you are asking the right questions" types of responses
@friendly_neighbourhood_bat @dragonfi @andnull @davidrevoy otoh, if the rubber duck is telling you how awesome you are ... 😁
@davidrevoy Great Comic. I remember accidently using tutors as rubber ducks when I was in college lol. It really is a good way to figure things out.

@VANTABlack2000
Dont worry, it also works with colleagues after XD

@davidrevoy

@davidrevoy Works everytime! Solved many different issues! Would rubber duck again!

 lovely comic
@davidrevoy : I often use a forum to explain my technical problem and to receive help. Regularly, it helps me to clarify the problem and I find the solution myself...
@davidrevoy Cepper has come so far
@davidrevoy Cepper? First time we hear about her name I guess?
@lanodan Yes! It's official, it's ... 🥁 ... Cepper & Parrot! 😆
@davidrevoy Haha :D

@lanodan @davidrevoy

Owi 😍😍😍

I was wondering "why this name".

Merci !

@davidrevoy @lanodan thats a cepstral projection I guess (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cepstrum)
Cepstrum - Wikipedia

@davidrevoy @lanodan Oh. I got Amall right away, but I couldn't figure this out.
@landelare
I didn't even realize that there is something to "get" behind Amall... Would you mind to share?
@davidrevoy @lanodan
@flore @landelare @davidrevoy @lanodan Tu cherches un autre *sens* ?

@charles @davidrevoy @landelare @lanodan @flore

Wow, same as Flore, thx Charles for the tips !

@davidrevoy @nartagnan @charles @landelare @lanodan @flore
Je savais pas non-plus qu'il y avait une blague.
J'ai connu quelqu'un qui s'appelle Amal alors j'ai pas cherché plus loin. 😆
@Zekovski @nartagnan @charles @landelare @lanodan @flore En bonus pour les Francophones, à voir l'image dans l'en-tête de la MR que @Nartance (qui fait la trad fr) m'a envoyé hier https://framagit.org/peppercarrot/webcomics/-/merge_requests/1234 🤣

@davidrevoy @nartagnan @charles @landelare @flore Punaise m'a fallu un moment pour celle-là. ^^

Je pensais à une blague style "(I) 'am all (ears|…)" au début vu que c'est une elfe.
@davidrevoy @lanodan So does that mean her name is meant to be pronounced with a hard "C"?

@smithkm Pronunciate it the way you want! 😊 But if you want to know my way, in French, the C before a 'e' makes a [s] sound, but I like to spice it a bit and tell it like a [ts].

@lanodan

@davidrevoy @smithkm @lanodan like the 'C' of esperanto
@MascarellDiego @davidrevoy @smithkm @lanodan Same rule applies in Spanish. I associated it with Céfiro though, so my brain pronounced it *Céfer*.

@davidrevoy Oh dear gods. I know you mentioned her name in passing before, and I wondered...

And now my head hurts 😂

@davidrevoy @lanodan well if she is ever going to meet the other two, it will surely be in the "bad word joke hell", at least carrot can have something to eat.
What exactly happens, when a cat eats an avian intelligence?
@mohs @lanodan Haha, I don't know, but on episode 40 of Pepper&Carrot, I have a shot on a crowd and my mission will be to put Cepper on it as a cameo (and Sintel too if I can).
@davidrevoy Most everyone has more than one mind since they have more than one brain hemisphere. Sometimes we just need a quiet moment to hear our second thoughts speak above the cacophony of our first thoughts.

@davidrevoy

I don't know why, but this gif was just going through my head when I was reading the comic.

But yeah, sometimes all we need is a muse to help jog our memory.

@davidrevoy i cannot boost this as often as it deserves to be boosted.
@davidrevoy Sometimes, it's works.

Glad to have a modern revamp !

David, Jeff, thanks a lot for how inspiring your are !

Rubber Duck Problem Solving

At Stack Exchange, we insist that people who ask questions put some effort into their question, and we’re kind of strict about it. That is, when you set out to ask a question, you should… * Describe what’s happening in sufficient detail that we can follow along. Provide the

Coding Horror
@davidrevoy Gee, and I thought it was "IGNISME!" Whoopsie!
@farbenstau @davidrevoy The true ancient incantation is "Ful Ir".
@davidrevoy FINALLY
@f4grx Yes! Good to reach this part of the arc for Cepper: a closure, a solution... she grew. I'll probably end the Avian Intelligence arc here and move on.
@davidrevoy
*Sad*
Would like to see more from Cepper!
@f4grx
@davidrevoy I hope this isn't the last we see of her
@davidrevoy Good idea. I've enjoyed this arc a lot, but you're right, it's time to move on to other subjects. I hope we can check back in on Cepper and her Aquatic Inanimate coding partner sometime down the line, though.
@davidrevoy I love this because this is pretty much exactly how I handle programming in most cases. I say out lout the logic I want and at most I look up the syntax to accomplish each part. Other times I write/draw out a diagram (which feels like summoning lol)

@Tealfuleyes
@davidrevoy

I am pretty sure the most valid "vibe coding" is just writing your spec as comments in a blank source file, then debugging it until it does what you wrote. No LLM required.

@Snapai @davidrevoy I'm unsure if you are implying that I "vibe code". I have never done such or plan to do so. I am saying that as I code I tend to write/draw and speak out loud my thoughts as I do so and if I do not know the exact syntax for a a specific thing I need search documentation or my notes for it.

@Tealfuleyes @davidrevoy

No why would you think that I was implying that?

@Snapai @davidrevoy
Because I mentioned my own approach of working through coding and your reply to me comes off as placing my approach in the same hat as "vibe coding" or it being less valid than commenting in files, ending with "No LLM required". It reads odd to me as a reply to my statement hence why I was unsure.
@davidrevoy plus the duck fools the school into thinking you've got the ai they asked for!
@davidrevoy for a moment I read Creeper instead of Cepper lol
@NullTheFool @davidrevoy Glad I wasn't the only one >.> Too much Minecraft
@davidrevoy
But... but.. where are the profits? I was told there'd be so much profit!?
@davidrevoy The wisdom of the ancients 🦆

@davidrevoy Ooooh, Amall looks intrigued. Maybe it's the start of something good!

It doesn't get more sandboxed than that, too. XD Rubber duck keeps all your secrets!
