@trib @jpm @hacks4pancakes pity there's no trains to Puckapunyal.
Such a great place to go for some Aussie military history
@jpm @trib @hacks4pancakes yep. Would be a bit of a walk, and I'm not even sure they do busses out to there.
Can't fire tank shells without being away from people 😆
Trains effin rock!
@michcampbell @hacks4pancakes I'd still call that extremely cheap!
For comparison:
🇬🇧 London zone 1,2: £171.70
🇫🇷 Paris €92
🇺🇸 NYC metro US$132
🇦🇺 Melbourne A$228
... and those are just urban networks.
I don't know if the German pass includes commuter time (is that still a thing?) - but in UK a monthly commuter pass ("season ticket") costs:
🐬 Brighton £320
🚗 Swindon £485
🎓 Cambridge £368
@Nigel_Lake @hacks4pancakes yeah, its not bad but most months I struggle to take enough journeys to cover the fare. But I live in a small city and can bike everywhere, it would be different in a big city of if you commute by public transport.
British PT is a privatised nightmare, amazing that anyone can afford it!!

This is such a good idea. Both the free trams and trains and just riding them all day.
