Finally got a fully operational crystal radio for http://cornish-semiconductor.com and it's _extremely_ cute.
It was made in Manchester in 1923: https://www.radiomuseum.org/r/master_master_junior.html

A couple of decades ago, Vint Cerf gave a little presentation to the local UK office in a small conference room, and had a Q&A session. One of the questions:
'Is there anything you wish you did differently in TCP/IP?'
Funnily enough, yes, he wished that TCP sessions used a unique session identifier, instead of address:port. This would make TCP sessions "portable" across connections, e.g if you have a device roaming across networks.
"Portable" was of course not a consideration in the 1970s.
@jeffmcneill Naming the albums for Enriched Uranium would be wild.

I know the vast majority of people don't care about this shit, and will continue to sink money into digital services for convenience, but I"m content being the rare curmudgeon on your timeline complaining about the time when we actually used to be allowed to own things rather than rent licenses to them.
Films, books, music, games, etc.
As others in this area have already noted, we are on the cusp of having to rent the hardware, too.
