As with the first season, I tried out several different clientside mods, including Distant Horizons at some point, which did cause issues since the chunk cache stuck around between runs (which I did work around on my own), which had varying degrees of success towards adding a bit of visual flare and polish to the whole experience. I tried using shaders, especially those with PBR rendering techniques, but they were too taxing when combined with OBS and streaming the whole thing live on Twitch.
We eventually settled on a vanilla++ style setup in the end, similar to the first season's compass-gives-minimap and clock-gives-time HUD additions, but with the new resource pack improvements made since then, we had much more to work with this time around.
