My kids have stolen my gaming chair from my office. I need to buy myself a new desk chair. Not gaming this time. Thinking about a Leap. What else should I be considering?
@accidentalciso Not a recc of what to buy per se, but had good luck by buying refurbished from Crandall Office Furniture online.
@accidentalciso I have secret lab gaming chair and like you, I am seriously considering buying non-gaming chair this time around. seriously considering one of those herman miller-esq mesh chairs for their longer term comfort. my back can't handle hard surface of gaming chairs anymore. I will take a look at leap as well but I was seriously considering ..Hyken by staples based on recommendations from couple of friends.
@Rajiv The gaming chair worked great for me when my job was primarily meetings, and I was sitting in a slightly reclined position and using my mouse/keyboard less. Now that I'm doing more focus work, I'm finding that that the chair prevents my elbows from going back far enough to be ergonomically correct when sitting in a more upright and active position.
@Rajiv Also, shape of the back of the chair worked well when reclined back slightly in meetings, but doesn't provide the right support when sitting forward for focus work.
@Rajiv I know chairs are expensive, but seriously... do they have to be THIS expensive? 🤣 😭

@accidentalciso @Rajiv I've been looking at some chairs recently too. I've got one from Deaky, but it's not great. German Miller and Steelcase are the gold standards, but are expensive. Check for refurbs though, as you can get a used one for a lot less and heyre still good.

In looking at the LiberNovo myself, but that may be due to the ads targeting me, or the thousands for a new Hetman Miller Embody...

@JohnsNotHere there used to be a used office furniture place in KW... I wonder if it's still there. might be worth a trip if it is..
@accidentalciso right? It's bonkers how costly they are 😞
@accidentalciso I thought everyone just worked while still lying in their beds these days??
@accidentalciso If you only work at the desk, an Aeron, if you do other stuff like gaming or general office work and may move about in a chair a bit more, an Embody. I've had my Embody for about a year and been very happy.
@accidentalciso I like my good ol Costco mesh office chair. It’s soft and cool and has held up really well.
@accidentalciso I have a Herman Miller Aeron and love it. But I bought mine reconditioned for around $600 vs. $1600 new. I have roller blade casters on it which are lightyears better than stock.

@accidentalciso The guy I follow on Youtube for miniature painting recently featured the chair he uses since he sits all day painting miniatures. I'm considering it

@accidentalciso I went with a Steelcase Gesture; love the chair.

@accidentalciso I have a steelcase leap, it's wonderful. That and a Aeron-C as the A and B models are too small.

Also, no matter what you do, get rollerblade wheels. ANY office chair will feel that much better with poly wheels versus the hard plastic crap.

@accidentalciso I got an Ergonomic Chair Pro from branchfurniture.ca when I started this job, it’s pretty great and wasn’t horribly expensive.
