I’m confused though: Why do they its only going to be 2-3yrs? Doctor wanted to lessen the blow? Ignorant doctor not taking it seriously?

@curiousicae @tomkindlon @mecfs Many, many doctors are ignorant. It does sometimes happen that you can get better early on in the disease's progress, if you really, really rest. But in my experience, doctors who say this still believe the debunked idea that it's all in our heads and if we believe that we will get better, we will.

Monstrously destructive, but very common.
