>> #Mueller report should have been not only the end of #Trump but the end of the #Republican Party… What's needed now is a confrontation with uncomfortable truth and a meaningful lasting reckoning and reformation.
#Biden, even before taking office, even before appointing #MerrickGarland, followed the fine American tradition of NOT punishing the #Confederacy, #Nixon, #Epstein,… and proudly proclaimed he was going to scatter all Mueller evidence to the wind

In another political time, the Mueller report would have put such an administration in the grave. We are in different times.
If we want "meaninful reformation," we need a totally different way.
Follow my byline if interested.
>> #Mueller knew Donald was a #traitor, but he did the job…(couldn't prove it then…)
He had enough receipts to conclude in his report that #Trump welcomed #Russia interference and benefitted from it, but he chose to hide behind the OLC memo that protected sitting presidents.
>> and then trusted the president's criminal co-conspirators to tell the truth. #Trust was his failure.
He also trusted next admin to finish the job, and #Biden, even after #Jan6, dropped the ball.
American politics is terminally ill… the polarization complete and truth and integrity no longer seem to matter. Where to go from here?
Give Trump a few more months and it will be there indeed…
@xs4me2 @JuliusGoat and unfortunately Trump is just a symptom. My best guess is we flip both houses of Congress this year, and probably elect some corporate centrist Democrat in 28. But the Democrats won't fix the structural issues that allowed Trump to do what he has. Then some, much smarter tyrant comes along and completely destroys any semblance of democracy or freedom.
I hope I'm wrong. I'm too old for this shit.
I hope you are wrong too...
Or perhaps that a true American will do what is needed from him even if the fools and idiots he reports to do not want to hear it.
@JuliusGoat I choose to re-read your words at the beginning of this, and choose hope - action, and hope.
thank you for writing
Note: There was an institution within an institution (Senate Select Committee on Intelligence) that did methodical work, confirming Mueller's finding that Trump's 2016 campaign chair shared strategy with a Russian Intel operative and calling it a "grave counterintelligence threat."
But neither full Senate nor Congress stood up to Trump's lies about Mueller. https://rollcall.com/2020/08/18/senate-intelligence-committee-russian-interference-2016-election-report/

The Senate Intelligence Committee on Tuesday released the final report on its investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election, finding numerous contacts between the Trump campaign and Moscow posed a “grave” counterintelligence threat. “We found irrefutable evidence of Russian meddling,” Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., acting chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said in a statement, directly […]
