Who would believe that?
People who are willing to (1) close their eyes to the full 15-month performance of the job market under Trump, (2) lower their expectations about what monthly job gains should be, and (3) ignore that rising inflation under Trump is eating further and further into wages.

There’s a difference between lies and self-defeating lies.
When Trump points to a “very substantial” drop in gas prices, and says prices at the pump are “way down,” consumers know better for the most obvious of reasons: their own life experiences.

Note: Even with this "best in 13 months" private-sector jobs number for April 2026, job creation during Trump's first 15 months is running far behind what we had in the 15 months before he returned to the White House.
The Billion-Dollar Ballroom Betrayal:
Trump promised that no taxpayer money would be used for his ballroom project, but now the Trump Republicans who run Congress are giving him a billion dollars for the ballroom while working Americans continue to struggle with higher prices under his policies.
It's just the latest Republican betrayal of voters.
It was two months ago today when Trump boasted, “Yesterday, my administration announced decisive action to help keep down the oil prices.” He quickly added that prices “have pretty much stabilized.”
Today seemed like a good day to revisit that quote.
