Top counterterrorism official Kent resigns over #TrumpsWar, says #Iran posed no imminent threat

#JoeKent, the director of the National Counterterrorism Center, announced his resignation Tuesday, saying he “cannot in good conscience” back the #Trump admin’s #war in Iran.

Kent said on social media Iran “posed no imminent threat to our nation, & it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel & its powerful American lobby.”

Kent, a former political candidate with connections to #FarRight #extremists, was confirmed to his post last July on a 52-44 vote.

As head of the National Counterterrorism Center, Kent was in charge of an agency tasked with analyzing & detecting terrorist threats.

His full letter has more detail than the social media post.

The non-credible part in the letter is Kent's suggestion Trump was deceived as to Iran's threat level by media and Israel. He gives no weight to Trump being both stupid and a willing source of the disinformation too. There's a possibility of both, of course, which is embarrassing to USA.

Is that the only “non-credible” part? Because I found his claims that (1) Israel's "powerful American lobby" caused the war in Iran, (2) Israel "dr[e]w us into the disastrous Iraq war," or (3) our fight against ISIS in Syria was "a war manufactured by Israel" not only non-credible, but deeply ahistorical and steeped in antisemitism along the lines of the old “Court Jew” and “Jew puppet master” style canards.

@Nonilex this guy claimed Putin's demands for Luhansk and Donetsk were "very reasonable" and has a lot of connections to far right "Christian nationalists", as well as Peter Thiel. He might have more reasons to be angry, but the main one seems to be that this war is too Jewish for his taste.

On Jan 21, 2027... Trump will be 1/2 way thru his second ("final") term

"They" will find a way to replace him getting 2 free years of J.D. "Couch-fucker" Vance... who is wholly owned by Peter Thiel... as POTUS... before they have to try to get him elected. (Or more likely before they "find a reason" to cancel elections 'forever')
