I have no idea why so many designers don't incorporate more permanent hardware. This takes two #6 screws with a tapered head. No clamps, or anything on top of the desk.

@anikimakes you mean designers of 3d printed parts? Hardware costs money and must be bought, not always available on hand. Also irreversible damage to the table (screw holes).

@beeb The options on thingiverse are either bad designed or overengineered, and the products on Amazon will absolutely leave more damage to the work surface than a couple of screw holes on the UNDERSIDE of a desk.

@anikimakes right I'm not saying it's wrong, but that might explain why it's more common to find fully printed models
