@catsalad only if they swallow
@cR0w @catsalad God dammit, I just wrote that and then deleted it in shame when all the replies loaded lmao.

@catsalad

O Only if they swallow

@catsalad More pertinent: If a vegan bites someone, does that someone become a vegan?

@phryk @catsalad they'd have to bite hard enough to not be vegan to spread the condition, which would prevent it from spreading.

So, No.

@phryk @catsalad Only if it was a radioactive vegan. But the bite victim also gains the relative strength and speed of a vegan.
@the_gneech @phryk @catsalad If it ever reaches a point that biting a vegan also confers their health, vegans had better watch out. 😁
@phryk @catsalad Same. Depends on how hard they bite, in both cases.
@phryk @catsalad if a vegan bites someone, they are no longer a vegan
@catsalad I mean, realistically, the case can be made… because kinky vegans are a thing and romantic partners tend to have a pretty big influence on each other.
@phryk @catsalad would watch the Resident Vegan series of horror movies.
@phryk I’m starting to wonder wether it’s safe to invite a vegan into my home. @catsalad

@catsalad

It's similar to vampires - the one who's bitten will transform into vegan!

@catsalad Vegan is only about animals. Eating humans is totaly vegan.
@Hal_9000 So would a vegan cannibal be a vegan that eats people or just other vegans?
@catsalad Eating people is fine, you'll only have to check for maggots, trichinella and worms. Eating them is not vegan.

@catsalad @Hal_9000 Correction: Eating **consenting** human is vegan.

Kids, remember to ask for a consent before eating someone

Veganism - Wikipedia

@Hal_9000 @catsalad So... You want to tell me that I am in fact not a vegan?
@Hal_9000 @paveljanicek @catsalad it doesn't say human either
@catsalad @Hal_9000 a matter of consent. Animals can't consent.
@catsalad key is that you now have two werevegans
@catsalad The person they bit becomes vegan
@catsalad depends on whether the bitten consents
@catsalad if unconsensual for the purpose of eating no. the rest yes

@sophie @catsalad

Is there any legal mechanism to concentrate to be eaten by another person? 🤔🤷‍♂️

@catsalad as a vegan, I only refuse to bite animals (except for the occasional insect that chooses to travel visa-free through my alimentary canal)

humans are fair game
@catsalad Missing "depends on if they consent". 😂 Isn't that what veganism is about?
@catsalad Depends on whether the biting was consensual, surely?
@catsalad only if the bitee is vegan.
@catsalad I think vegans can eat meat if the meat source consents, so the real answer is "it depends".
@ainmosni @catsalad Wasn't that a whole Thing a while back where a consenting person wanted to have a part of them amputated and eaten by someone else? I don't remember what happened to that - likely they couldn't find any hospital ethics board willing to sign off on it.
@JessTheUnstill @catsalad That was here in Germany indeed, you can read more about it here. The homocide complicates the matter though.
Armin Meiwes - Wikipedia

@ainmosni @catsalad Yikes that's... A rough read. I stopped after the first paragraph or two of the murder....
@JessTheUnstill @catsalad Yeah it's fucked up, which is not surprising considering the subject matter.
@catsalad
if they got consent, sure
@catsalad provided they got consent first, yes. there is applicable online precedent but it's a trifle squicky.
@catsalad well, it depends if they bite a human or an animal.
In the same way of thinking, if you make cheese with your own milk, is it vegan?

@catsalad

if a vegan bites someone, they lose their vegan status for 48 hours.

@paul_ipv6 @catsalad Do they also lose their vegan superpowers?

@GalbinusCaeli @catsalad

more importantly, they lose the right to tell eveyone they meet that they are vegan.

@catsalad Did the biting vegan get consent before biting? This affects the answer.
@catsalad doesn't it also depend on who they bite? For example, if they bite a vegan, they are still vegan, maybe. If they bite Trump, they might still be vegan because he contains no substance known to biology.
@catsalad the obvious answer is it depends on consent i think
@catsalad Technically no but if they break the skin and draw blood they have to be put down because they've got the taste now.
@catsalad you have lost your veganity

@catsalad

If that someone is a vegan than yes. If that someone is a meatan than no.

@catsalad as long as it's not cruelty :3
@catsalad Yes, if the bitee consents to it
@catsalad is they bite me, yeah... because I'm kinda green, right... but other people? I don't know... so like if vegan people wanna bite anyone, I'm available to be bitten
