Yesterday we held a colorful tree-planting program in the Lunnya the small town Together with pupils from Lwamata Primary School in Lunnya, we walked through the the community carrying tree seedlings to the planting site. Along the way, many people joined and learned about our mission. Even those who didn’t know us before came to understand our work to protect the environment, fight climate change, and secure a better future through actions like tree planting.

When we reached the planting site, we truly felt like heroes and land stewards promoting sustainability. Everyone planted a tree and many marked the ones they planted. Each person will care for their tree by watering it and giving it the attention it needs to grow strong. We aim higher and hope our community supports this action. It’s inspiring to see young people, especially pupils of Lunnya Primary School protecting nature and building a greener future

@econetwork I Would like to share the reaction of people who saw us moving with the trees. Many were curious and some even joined us along the way. Although the journey was long and not everyone managed to reach the planting site with us, their support meant a lot. In the end, we made it please keep following us to see more of our work ahead we still have amazing things to share. @econetwork @pacific06 #uganda

We planted different types of trees, including both fruit-bearing and non-fruit trees, all of which benefit and support a healthier environment. Thank you for your support and for following our amazing posts today. @Gustodon ✌️🙏

@econetwork Congratulations! May your garden grow & be fruitful!

I just wonder: doesn't need Avocado very much water? (Maybe that's not a problem if you don't plant monocultures, it's just what I heard.)

@fiee Thank you for your question. We planted these trees in the same garden where we plan to develop our projects. We mix many different crops together, so it is not a monoculture. This helps the soil stay healthy and use water more naturally.
@econetwork @Gustodon
These posts make me very happy. They spark so much joy and #hope! May your garden and your community grow like peppermint (one of my favourite plants, always on my balcony, it’s incredibly resilient)!
@KorinnaAllhoff Thank you so much We are happy to hear that you also have plants that you care about. Yes, it is not always easy, but we keep trying and doing our best to make progress in our communities.
@econetwork
I do! In spring and summer we always have multiple types of berries, various herbs and fresh salad. We even have a little worm box to produce humus and fertiliser! I very much hope my children will also learn how to grow food and to appreciate the work and patience needed for good products…

@KorinnaAllhoff @econetwork here is a Wikipedia page for what I think is the same thing

It's a fantastic way to generate compost, and liquid compost (basically worm poop) which is even better as fertilizer. But u does require a bit more work than normal composting

@Alejandro_P @econetwork
Yes, that’s it! I disagree on your last point though, because our worm box needs almost zero maintenance. We get hummus about three to four times a year and liquid fertiliser maybe once a month or so. The latter can even be produced on demand simply by adding water to the box and waiting for liquid („worm tea“) to drip into the gray tray below…
@KorinnaAllhoff @Alejandro_P @econetwork That’s really interesting I actually read about this today in the morning and even subscribed to keep getting their updates. It’s amazing how it needs almost zero maintenance just bring it home, find a good place for it, and start using it. Really love this idea.

@pacific06 @Alejandro_P @econetwork
Yes, it’s super practical. Some family members were sceptical, especially in the beginning, but over the years they also got one box each.

Not sure the system would be scalable for your purposes and also not sure the European worms would like it in Uganda - but maybe the people producing these systems could answer such questions? They have really good support for their (potential) customers!

@pacific06 @KorinnaAllhoff @Alejandro_P @econetwork
My husband had a major composting system at our last place, where I had a big garden.
He used a hybrid system, with worms in regular compost bins that he rotated regularly. A few times a year there was amazing, rich vermicompost.

Tagging him so he can 'splain his system better. I told him he should write an article about it but @kmcdouall is a busy guy

@KorinnaAllhoff @econetwork I see, I had the impression that require more work in keeping the worms alive and whatnot but great to hear that is so easy to keep
@Alejandro_P @econetwork
We can even go on vacation, they can easily survive up to 3 weeks without any care. Best pets ever! 😉
@KorinnaAllhoff Thank Happy to hear that you are teaching your children how to grow food. Yes, it really needs patience and care. Just curious about your worm box how long does it take to produce fertiliser?
@econetwork This is so cool! Great to see that many people joined you to support your mission and the community!
@ditsch42 Thank you so much, It was amazing to see everyone come together to support our mission and the community.

@econetwork

It’s wonderful to see these dedicated young people working hard for their future and inspiring as many people as possible along the way.
Please keep it up – you’re doing everything right!

@Vasquezz Thank you so much for your kind and encouraging words. We truly appreciate your support and motivation for our work.
@econetwork Thanks for posting. Tagging for #SolarPunkSunday
