Something I love about the fedi is that you feel the rotation of the earth. I wake up at 5 am and my feed is filled with realtime chatter from my European mutuals, not filled with random algorithmic schlock from times and places unknown.
@Michigander And evening/bedtime stuff from my Down Under mutuals! Love it. Excellent point.
@Michigander I remember when Twitter used to be like that.πŸ˜”
@mlanger @Michigander I was just thinking the same thing, Maria.
@Michigander And the other way around too! Sometimes when I'm about to go to bed I feel like the timeline is waking up.

@Michigander
Indeed! Almost bedtime here in Japan, and I'm enjoying a few early a.m. posts from back in the US before I crash.πŸ˜΄πŸ’€

Good morning!β˜•

@Michigander (Just popping in to inform everyone that 'schlock' is a 7 letter word-play and scores 18 pts in Scrabble.)

@Michigander

My wife is always bitching about stuff in her zuckbook feed that is a week or more old.

FB local group.
We have sorted your feed by most relevant first.

@SuperMoosie @Michigander

Glad I never joined that shit show.

@Michigander Yeah, I like that effect, too. When it's afternoon here in Germany, the Americas are waking up πŸ™‚
@Michigander
I regret to inform you all your mutuals are actually in your area and simple stay up until 5am to fill your morning feed because we care about you.
@Michigander except for post from the β€˜posts from an unknown place’ account. Those places are still unknown :P
@Michigander
I feel this too. It encourages different perspectives, the perception of which seems to me to be a quality inherent within those present of the Fediverse.

@Michigander

And: There is a northern and a southern part of this earth with contrary seasons (especially visible if one follows the #gardening hashtags).

(Less often: Gardening content from regions nearer to the equator with completely different seasons)

@Michigander For some reason my timeline fills up with dogs while I sleep, but I only discover them the next morning. The β€œMorning Dogs” are almost a household name around here.

@Michigander

Makes it fun to schedule posts, too. You can reach a different audience depending on the time of day.
