Something I love about the fedi is that you feel the rotation of the earth. I wake up at 5 am and my feed is filled with realtime chatter from my European mutuals, not filled with random algorithmic schlock from times and places unknown.

I feel this too. It encourages different perspectives, the perception of which seems to me to be a quality inherent within those present of the Fediverse.
