Something I love about the fedi is that you feel the rotation of the earth. I wake up at 5 am and my feed is filled with realtime chatter from my European mutuals, not filled with random algorithmic schlock from times and places unknown.

(Less often: Gardening content from regions nearer to the equator with completely different seasons)
