One fundamental issue with that suggested schema is that it completely breaks down if one normalizes peer-to-peer interactions, in which case there is no service.

They're so hierarchical authoritarian-brained that they cannot even conceive of this.

@openrightsgroup So I can email my MP yet again on this particular topic and if they even bother to reply it will be saying they are 100% in favour of MORE control of the Internet, as they have before and as did their predecessor, both Labour Party, for all it matters. They toe the party line and are not moved by what their constituents say (with exceptions, I guess).

@openrightsgroup I think this is social media‘s backlash against being held accountable for the devastating effect. Social media has on young people and it actually has a bad effect on adults too. But they pretend it’s about caring about children. That’s what sickens me. How they do everything but solve the problem.

@openrightsgroup this kind of stuff happened in [you guess which country] 20 years ago. Initially for games. no pushback. even largely welcomed. Expanded to social media and chat apps around 10 years ago. Some complaints, no pushback. Now you get police knocking at your door if you post or just chat certain things online. still basically no pushback. People just accept it. The amount of people willing to just take whatever shit is saddening.

Correct. It's not the adults that hang out with adults on adult sites that is the problem. It's the adults that pretend to be children hanging out with children on universal sites and services that are the dangers.
