@openrightsgroup this kind of stuff happened in [you guess which country] 20 years ago. Initially for games. no pushback. even largely welcomed. Expanded to social media and chat apps around 10 years ago. Some complaints, no pushback. Now you get police knocking at your door if you post or just chat certain things online. still basically no pushback. People just accept it. The amount of people willing to just take whatever shit is saddening.
@openrightsgroup once a generation grows up with mass surveillance as part of their life, they normalize it and they defend the surveillance. But before us old folks die out. We try as much as we can.
